Jyl Hershman, Flute

I would have loved to participate in the reunion, but I will be out of the country for the month of June.  Keep me in your address book - perhaps the 50th? Here's the run down of my life - (whatever Scott didn't update you on, anyway). I was working in radio—started in Dallas in public radio freelance reporting for NPR (my pieces ran on Morning Addition, All Things Considered, Christian Science Monitor Radio), then moved on to a great non-traditional commercial radio station (KGSR in Austin, TX) where I was the Asst. Program Director and Promotions Director, covering everything from on-air shifts to special events and all the station charity work. I worked at KGSR for 18 years and was laid off last October, so I shifted gears to work with my other great love (next to music), animals, and I'm now a trainer and lecturer at the Lee Mannix Center for Canine Behavior [ http://www.lmccb.com/staff.htm].

Musically, I traveled (guitar in hand) after college, moved to Texas, played with a Celtic band for awhile after moving back to Austin (Two O’clock Courage), became pretty popular in that traditional music circle, recorded a couple of CDs, married a musician/producer (Grammy nominated) and we share our house with a bunch of dogs and cats. Craig and I are working on splitting our time between Austin, Texas and Melbourne, Australia, earning our keep in the music field (for him) and with dogs (for me) and continuing to play music on both sides of the ocean.

big love –
