Lou DiLeo, Trumpet, Guitar and Vocals

Lou DiLeo holds a bachelors degree in Music Education from Hofstra University and did his graduate work at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College , City University of New York. He studied trumpet with John Owens (NBC Staff Musician), John Wilson (Director of Bands, Duquesne University ), Dave Burns (Vanguard recording artist and lead trumpet with the Dizzy Gillespie Band and the Duke Ellington Orchestra), Alfonso Maiorca (Tonight Show Band) and Murray Karpilovsky (NBC Symphony, Pittsburg Symphony). He also studied guitar with Michael Dante.

Lou began his professional career at age 11 making children's recordings for the American Book Co. on NBC records. A union musician since the age of 16, he has worked in New York , Las Vegas , Atlantic City and abroad for some of the greats in the industry including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Don Rickels, Vanessa Williams, Robert Goulet, Bobby Vinton and many others. His own groups have performed all over the New York Metropolitan area in venues such as The Waldorf Astoria, The Plaza Hotel, The Top of the Sixes, Jimmy Weston's, Windows on the World at the World Trade Center and the Country Club Circuit on Long Island , just to mention a few. On the classical side, he performed for years as the trumpet soloist at St. Paul 's R.C. Church (The Spanish Cathedral) at Lincoln Center in New York , as well as playing in various orchestras, concert bands and chamber work.

Many of Lou's private students have gone on to pursue musical careers, most with substantial scholarships, at some of the finest schools in the country such as The Manhattan School of Music, The Peabody Conservatory, The Crane School of Music, NYU, Duke, Cornell, U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Ithaca, Muhlenberg, American University, George Mason University and many, many others. Some of these former students are now professional musicians, some are music educators and some are both.

After the attack on America on 9-11, Lou offered his services to the United States Military. He has served as the Ceremonial Bugler for the Famed "Fighting 69th" of New York (The Irish Brigade), 42nd Infantry (Rainbow Division), 3rd U.S. Army. He currently serves as the Chief Bugler for the New York Military Forces Honor Guard and recently received an officer's commission in the New York Guard.

Lou juggles all this with his wife Maria and his two sons Louis and Richard from their home in Seaford, Long Island.
